A sustainable rural society, where no poverty exists and people act responsibly toward the environment

From the 14th to 23rd of September, the project “Associated agriculture for long-term income stabilization of ethnic minorities and equal integration in community development in Vietnam” held 6 meetings for 21 breeding groups in 5 communes and town in Nam Giang district, Quảng Nam province in order to introduce the project to local people, select and assess beneficiary households for the black pig raising model for the first time.

 

There were 450 people including representatives from beneficiary households, project management board, collaborators at commune level and veterinary staff of Cà Dy, Tà Pơơ, Tà Bhing, Chà Vàl communes and Thạnh Mỹ town participating in these meetings.

At the meetings, the Center of Rural Development in Central Vietnam (CRD) who has been directly implementing the project, presented the targets, expected outcomes and implementation methods of the project. Later, CRD staff and the participants identified the needs of the beneficiaries and selected the households based on the priority order. By this way, CRD staff along with project management board and veterinary staff at commune level are going to visit each household, investigate and assess the actual situation of cages, breeds, breeding methods and then provide appropriate solutions to support each beneficiary in upcoming time.
